It rests in the perineum at the base of the spine, and draws energy from the magnetic field at the earth's core. This energy moves up through the feet and legs, energizing blood and tissues in the body. It stimulates aggressive drives linked to survival and anchors our spirit on the material plane, establishing our worldly existence.

The Root Chakra's intelligence helps us to administer our life force. It is based on order in the energetic economy. It is concerned with the qualities of order, security, structure, and stability that we need to make a viable existence. We need to cultivate attitudes that trust in the goodness of life to get us through difficult and challenging times. The more inner stability we can mentally create, the more grounded life becomes and the better we are able to cope with change.
